If you use this template and post it in one of the AC subreddits, please tag me! 🙏 everyone has been creating some fantastic maps so far and i'd absolutely love seeing the finished product. let me know if the files are okay! this is also my first time sharing files publicly so hopefully i did everything right. i wasn't sure if i wanted to outline everything - turns out i only kept the outlines on the buildings in my map - so you have the option to keep or remove them. You'll notice there's an 'outlines' layer separated from the sprites. but they should be big enough for you to work with. (actually i could've included them in a new layer instead now that i think about it. i worked by copy-pasting them from the legend layer onto a new layer.Ī few assets (mostly buildings) are missing from the legend as i was running out of room for them and they were last minute additions so i included them in a separate (png) file. which is why i had to merge all the little sprites / assets on the same layer in the legend box. if there's anything wrong though, please let me know in the comments and i'll try to fix it.īecause i am working on a regular ipad (as opposed to an ipad pro) and wanted the file to be in high resolution, i was limited to a maximum of ~20 layers, unfortunately. i exported the files in psd format but i have no way of verifying if the files work properly as i don't have photoshop, sorry.
This was originally done in procreate on ipad. I am by no means an experienced digital artist - this is pretty much the first thing i ever really worked on, so it's not perfect, sorry! but i was able create an entire map without any major issues so it should be fine. I also included the files for the two fonts i used in case anyone needs them.
(in theory the psd file should also be compatible in gimp.) it doesn't show on the preview here but the legend background is transparent, btw!
I uploaded the files to google drive in procreate, photoshop and png formats. a few days ago i shared my dream island map here and a couple people asked me if i could share my template.
